CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER'S PROFILE
Linton Brown joined Shawn Johnson and Associates as director of sales and marketing in 2005 and became the chief financial officer in August 2007. He is a member of the management and development committee. Prior to SJ&A Brown held a number of financial positions in the insurance industry. In addition to serve as the chief financial officer Brown works with Sagicor Jamaica Life as an underwriter. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Technology, Jamaica.
CHIEF MARKETING EXECUTIVE
Dorothy's 23-year career has been in the field of marketing and sales. During her 3 years with Shawn Johnson and Associates she has directed the marketing of the company's products island wide. She has also spearheaded the customer satisfaction efforts.
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF AND EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIALIST
Valrie Parkes oversees content development and design and assists maintain the editorial excellence of all Shawn Johnson and Associates early childhood products. Parkes has over 25 years of experience in the primary and early childhood classroom. In addition to being the editor-in-chief at SJ&A Parkes is a senior lecturer and heads the Early Childhood Development at St. Joseph's Teachers' College, her alma mater. She has an Master of Arts in education from the University of the West Indies.
ASSOCIATE EDITOR AND LANGUAGE SPECIALIST
Purline Smith brings more than 20 years of teaching, public relations and editing experience to Shawn Johnson and Associates. In addition to being an editor at SJ&A Smith is a senior lecturer in the Language Development at St. Joseph's Teachers' College. She has an Master of Arts in education from the University of the West Indies.
ASSOCIATE EDITOR AND GSAT CONSULTANT
Eulie Mantock a veteran grade six teacher, brings many years of teaching and curriculum development experience to Shawn Johnson and Associates. Mantock is instrumental in the development and design application of SJ&A GSAT products. In addition to this, she teaches at the prestigious St. Richard’s Primary School, Jamaica. It is customary for Mantock’s students to do very well in the GSAT examination, win the many awards for academic excellence. She was educated at the University of the West Indies where she was awarded an Master of Arts in Education.
OPERATION OFFICER
Jermaine Gibson joined Shawn Johnson & Associates in June 2008. As the Operation Officer, he manages and increases the effectiveness and efficiency of support services (Hr, IT and Production), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business function. He is hard-working and enthusiastic, ensuring the day-to-day administrative support within the company. Prior to SJ&A, He worked as a pre-school teacher and as an office assistance at Love 101, a radio station in Kingston, Jamaica. Gibson is a graduate of Pembroke Hall High School and Wilmot’s Academy.
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Deniece Bernard-Lloyd joined Shawn Johnson & Associates in June 2009. As the Office Administrator, she oversees the administrative needs of Shawn Johnson & Associates and backs up the CEO and CFO as necessary. Additionally she spearheads the daily requirements of the office's relationship with over 90 clienteles and the marketing department. Her pervious experience includes positions as a Port Officer at the Kingston Wharves and as a site supervisor at an international security company. Deniece holds an advance certificate with a concentration in business administration from Regal Vocational Trade Institute.
SALES/MARKETING OFFICER
Greggory Samauels joined Shawn Johnson & Associates in March 2010. As the Marketing/Sales Officer, he is responsible for creating, preparing and establishing marketing strategies and policies for each title by coordinating the efforts of publicity, promotion, advertising, online and sales. His previous experience includes positions as Office Clerk and Customer Representative at Bryan's Book Store and Sangsters Bookstore. Greggory holds an advance diploma in Supervisory Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI).
